Cash for Clunkers Program Approved by Government!

The Cash for Clunkers bill would allow consumers driving old vehicles to receive a voucher for up to $4500 to put towards the purchase of a new more fuel efficient vehicle.

The bill would improve environmental conditions and help position the US to be less dependent on foreign oil. According to the proposal consumers would get a $3500 voucher if they trade in a car that gets less than 18 mpg for a new car with mileage of at least 22 mpg. Vouchers of $4500 would be awarded if the new car gets at least 10 mpg more than the vehicle being traded in.
