2013 Honda Fit EV Now Available for Hire

Holman Honda, a highly reputable Fort Lauderdale, Florida new Honda car dealer, wishes to inform that Zipcar, the mobility provider, will introduce the Honda Fit EV battery electric car into its fleet of car sharing vehicles. San Francisco will be the first city in the US to have the electric car for hire. According to an announcement, Honda has become the Zipcar’s preferred vehicle manufacturer focusing on electric and hybrid cars.

The Fit EV, Honda’s popular five-passenger Fit vehicle, has an 118 mile-per-gallon-equivalency (MPGe) rating* and consumes only 29kW/h per 100 miles. The Fit EV is 100% electric and features a 20-kW/h lithium-ion battery which can be recharged in as little as three hours. There is also a compact 92kW AC synchronous electric motor, which pumps out 189ft/lb of torque.**

The members of the Zipcar’s car sharing network will get more access to the most technologically advanced, low-emission cars in the manufacturer’s line-up. Holman Honda feels this will greatly appeal to urban, tech-savvy motorists as it gives them access to get a hands-on introduction to the newest technology and share the experience within the network.

Zipcar will introduce the new Fit EVs in its locations in San Francisco and they can be hired on an hourly basis starting at just $8 per hour. More Fit EVs will be introduced to Zipcar’s car sharing fleets in Los Angeles and Portland, Oregon soon.
