Honda Civic Makes About.com’s Best New Cars of 2012 List

Honda Civic was recently named among the Best New Cars of 2012 by About.com and Holman Honda, a leading Honda dealership in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is elated to share this news with all Honda car admirers.

Michael Accavitti, vice president of marketing operations, America Honda Motor Co., says, “We are thrilled to receive this award that recognizes the many advantages of the Civic. Twelve US Honda Models Receive IIHS Top Safety Pick

Twelve model year 2012 US Honda models, including the all new 2012 CR-V has received the Top Safety Pick award, the highest possible safety rating, from Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).  Holman Honda is proud to share this news with all their Honda customers as the cars have passed the test with flying colors under stringent testing guidelines implemented last year.

The IIHS testing measures the car’s performance in front, side, and rear crashes, plus rollover performance. Based on these tests, ratings are given and the car with the highest rating receives this much coveted award. The award is meant to help car buyers in making an informed decision.

The Honda Fit, CR-Z, Insight, Accord, CR-V, Pilot and Ridgeline, along with the Acura TL, TSX, and MDX all earned the highest possible score of GOOD in all the four rating categories including more rigorous roof-strength test.

Last year, the all new Civic and the revamped Odyssey earned the Top Safety Pick award giving US Honda twelve 2012 top safety pick winners.

All Honda and Acura models include standard safety equipment that include Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), side curtain airbags, (some vehicles equipped with a rollover sensor, as well); dual-stage, multiple-threshold front airbags; a driver's front side airbag; and a front passenger's side airbag with an occupant position detection system. All 2012 Honda and Acura models recognized by the IIHS, with the exception of the Ridgeline, utilize the Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure. ACE is an exclusive body design that enhances occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal crashes. The ACE design utilizes a network of connected structural elements to distribute crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle. This enhanced frontal crash energy management helps to reduce the forces transferred to the passenger compartment.
